A special little boy I know turned five the other day and Sloane couldn't have been more excited in the weeks leading up to the party. She kept asking if today was the party and fondling the present we had gotten for him. She is really catching on to the idea of birthday parties and gets into the spirit of how special it is for everyone involved. I think she was especially excited because of the owl costume I had put together for her, to go along with the 'Where the Wild Things Are' vibe of the party and she played the part of the owl, splendidly. I couldn't stop smiling when we got to the party and I saw all the kids all abuzz, eating their special popcorn and cupcakes, whooping and running around and just being their wonderful little selves to celebrate their friend.
