REST IN PEACE, MONTRACHET II

Monty was the regal dog of Paul and my sister, Sharon. He was the honorary grandpa of the family, with the best characteristics of an older and wiser soul. All knowing, but not verbose, affectionate but mostly in the way of his presence being a comfort. He loved a soft blanket to lay on and appreciated the finer things in life. He pitter pattered through life, his ears and fluff bouncing with his gait. He was always up for adventure, usually bookended by a hearty nap. He was a great companion, on the train, in the car, in good times and especially during difficult times. His eyes often said, “I know. But it will be alright.” He was greatly admired and fiercely loved.

Monty also happened to have my favorite twitter account of all time. I’ve included some of my favorite Monty-isms below:

I know you think I don't understand, but this blank look I'm giving you is the equivalent of "I refuse to dignify that with an answer.

Sometimes I tremble, but it's mostly because the air is so fresh, the earth so firm. Sunlight penetrating clouds of cotton.

Their excuse for forgetting me in the backyard was camouflage. Please, like I haven't heard that one before.

Where did the girl who feeds me apple slices go?

I am sitting on top of a warm air vent in @weareyoungloves and contemplating the finer points life: how my ears flutter attractively.

Just feeling really good.

Thanks for being a part of our lives Monty, we will miss you terribly.
