black sheep

I went back to Black Sheep for dinner the other night with a friend and was reminded of how great it was. It's on the pricey side, but it's one of those local places that uses fresh ingredients and embodies the local culture really well. I love the decor and the font on the menu and of course, the delicious food. Black Sheep was featured on Food Network for their gigantic submarine subs, which I haven't tried yet, for shame, but will do eventually. For dinner that night, I was hankering after a salad and soup and luckily, they had fennel and orange salad on their menu, which I have been wanting to try for a while now. The salad was made up of thinly sliced fennel, arugula, orange slices, and toasted pistachios with a honey poppy vinaigrette. And omygoodness, SO GOOD. It's officially my new favorite salad and I'm going to try to make it at home as soon as possible.

Sorry for the grainy photos, it got pretty dark in there.

Spied this in the bathroom and wanted to take it home.

M. got rainbow trout wrapped with bacon and filled with bright greens and lemon butter.

Fennel and Orange salad! omg yum.
